Basseterre, St. Kitts (MoPIEUDT NEWS) – As the first half of 2025 draws to a close, the Public Works Department (PWD) has openly discussed its achievements for the year. In the June 5 progress update briefing, Deputy Director, Xia-Xiang Claxton highlighted significant sporting projects undertaken by the department that contribute to the development of the nation.
A noteworthy project was the renovation of the Kim Collins Athletic Stadium. The team oversaw the resurfacing of the athletic track and the refurbishing of the seating area.
The Kim Collins Stadium allows the island to benefit greatly from hosting national and regional sporting activities. Athletes and spectators can now expect a more comfortable experience because of improvements to the facility.





In addition to the work on the Kim Collins Stadium, the Public Works Department also oversaw the construction of the Conaree Football Stadium. In her remarks, Ms. Claxton said:
“The Conaree football field stadium has been completed and we are very proud … We know that the stadium will serve the community well.”

The arena, thoughtfully designed to facilitate year-round training and events, will allow players, coaches and fans to unite in their passion for football.
The activities reflect PWD’s commitment to upgrading the island’s infrastructure for public use and enjoyment.
